English for Executives is a 12-week course that will improve your English ability while helping you master the critical skills that are important for your career. The course is designed for:
PowerBites 1: Introducing Your Company
The PowerBite is our term for the basic unit of communications in English. In this class we will introduce the PowerBite and work to build one that describes your company. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
PowerBites 2: Introducing Your Self
We will continue working with The PowerBites this week applying one that describes yourself your company. We want to make sure that you give a great first impression. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
Describing Data 1
In this week’s class we begin to work on learning to describe data, change of time and master the terminology that you need to communicate in a data driven world.
Describing Data 2
We continue working with data, learning how to make comparisons and express the important conclusions that drive a business. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
Story Telling 1: Archetypes
Storytelling is a powerful way to connect with others. It creates a sense of empathy and understanding between the storyteller and the audience of employees, customers and business partners. To become an effective storyteller, one needs to understand the elements of a good story; this class is your starting point. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
Story Telling 2: Corporate Stories
All successful corporations have a library of great stories that they use to communicate the lessons, values, and morals that underpin their success. They help employees, partners and customer understand complex ideas and concepts in a simple and relatable way. This week, we are going to start to build your story library.
Story Telling 3: Personal Stories
Personal stories are critical to your career success and to building your reputation inside your company and your industry. By creating a compelling personal story, you can connect with others, inspire change, and create a lasting impact. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
Presentations 1: Structure & Narrative
So you now have a story. But how to present it with impact? How to capture the attention of your customers? Your channel partners? This class starts you on the journey of learning how to tell your story. We will also spend a few minutes on reviewing the common errors that Chinese speakers make in English.
Presentations 2: Reducing The Sauce
We continue developing our presentation this week focusing on identifying the critical messages that you need to communicate. We call this “reducing the sauce”. Yes, it is challenging, but at the end we have this wonderful presentation that, like the best sauces, bubbles with deep insights, messages and fun.
Presentations Skills 1: Body Language, Voice, Cadence
You have a great presentation in hand. How do you deliver it with confidence? How do you achieve the impact that you need? How do you wow them in that new product launch? Win that key contract? Let’s learn how!
Presentations Skills 2: Asking for The Sale.
We make presentations for a reason? We seek a specific outcome. How best to structure your close to achieve that? In this class we cover how to close a presentation and the closing techniques available to you.
It's Show Time: Delivering Your Presentation
Hey. It is Showtime and you are going to deliver your presentation to the world. We will video it for you so that you can continue to work on everything that we have covered in our journey to better English communications.
